Meet the Leadership team

At DHC we have a leadership team who each take responsibility for a different area.

Leadership Team

Andrew Simpkins

Andrew’s background is in IT and project management. He and his wife Sara joined the church in 2014 after several years in leadership roles at Solihull Christian Fellowship. In his spare time he can often be found cycling and enjoys the challenges of mountain roads. Andrew is responsible for our links with other churches.

Leadership Team

Chris Maggs

Chris has been in church leadership for many years and also works in the world of pensions. He is the treasurer of the church and has been part of the church from its beginning in 2002. Tennis is his sport of choice and he can often be found at Wythall tennis club enjoying a game. He is responsible for our programme of Sunday services and activities.

Leadership Team

Mark Wevill

After experiencing the miracle of South Africa’s peaceful transition from apartheid to Mandela’s presidency, Mark moved to the Midlands with his family in 2002. He enjoys paddling his kayak, his work as an eye surgeon & Van Morrison’s music. Mark oversees our website and media content.

Leadership Team

Sarah Warhurst

Sarah has been involved in DHC since it started in 2002. During the week she is a teacher and also enjoys her garden, the cinema and walking her dog. She has a gift for prayer and caring which makes her ideal to take responsibility for our pastoral side – coming alongside people to encourage and support them.

Leadership Team

John Blakey

John came to faith in his early thirties, though he kept this private for many years. Recently, he’s become confident to share the good news more openly, leading the Alpha course. In his professional career, John helps business leaders be the best they can through his executive coaching, speaking and writing. Outside of church and work, he is a keen ‘blue nose’ and horseracing fan, plus enjoys practising t’ai chi and yoga. John’s responsibility is discipleship – helping people to continue to explore their faith.
